Magnetic Resonance Scanning (MRI)
Sansum Clinic's MRI delivers exceptional imaging in a wide range of studies with quiet operation and patient-friendly design. Our GE Signa TwinSpeed scanner is able to deliver highest-quality medical images in everything from simple scans of bones and joints to advanced studies of the brain, heart, and blood vessels.
Comfortable MRI – Our scanner also makes MRI easier for patients. Compared to traditional scanners, ours is 40 percent quieter. The noise of traditional scanners can be intimidating, especially to small children. Less noise makes it easier to keep children calm and comfortable during an exam. That means we get better pictures in less time.
Our scanner offers unique benefits for all ages. Its large opening is nearly two feet in diameter, to accommodate larger patients and makes scans more comfortable for those people who experience claustrophobia in the smaller space of a traditional scanner.
High-Quality MRI Images – The TwinSpeed is a dual-gradient scanner. It operates in two different modes:
- Whole-body mode for simpler studies
- Zoom mode for more complex studies of smaller areas
Instead of having two different scanners, we can do all our studies on this single machine and get the high-quality pictures our physicians need to determine the best course of care for our patients. Doctors also have the option of using both modes in a single exam. For example, a doctor may use the narrow zoom mode to identify a suspected cancerous tumor then switch to the wider whole-body mode to see if the cancer has spread to other areas.
CT (Computed Tomography)
Computed Tomography is a medical imaging method that uses tomography created by computer processing. Digital geometry processing is used to generate a three-dimensional image from a large series of two-dimensional X-ray images taken around a single axis of rotation.
Fluoroscopy
Fluoroscopy imaging is a technique physicians commonly use to obtain real-time moving images of the internal structures of a patient by using a fluoroscope.
