Providing Safe and Effective Anticoagulation Therapy
The Anticoagulation Clinic (ACC) is a specialized clinic that focuses primarily on the management of anticoagulation with Coumadin/Warfarin. Conditions we commonly treat include atrial fibrillation, mechanical heart valves, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), transient ischemic attack (TIA) and other conditions that require anticoagulation therapy.
Services
The Anticoagulation Clinic providers coordinate and optimize anticoagulation therapy by:
- Managing anticoagulation dosing
- Providing systematic monitoring and patient evaluation
- Providing ongoing education, including monthly coumadin education classes open to the public
- Communicating with other providers involved in the patient's care
Expert Care
Sansum’s Anticoagulation Clinic providers, including Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs), have had specialized training in Anticoagulation Therapy Management to coordinate and optimize anticoagulation therapy for each patient.
