SB Neighborhood Clinics & Sansum Clinic Breast Cancer Prevention Program
In 2009, the California Public Health Department made a drastic cut to its Every Woman Counts program, discontinuing free mammograms to low-income women ages 40-49. The Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics (SBNC) and Sansum Clinic are collaborating to provide essential diagnostic services to those least able to afford them and at no cost to the patients.
Sansum Clinic will provide free digital mammograms to patients ages 40 to 49 who are referred by physicians at SBNC. The American Cancer Society continues to recommend annual screenings for all women beginning at age 40. We anticipate 250 patients will need mammograms for a cost of $43,000 based on services performed last year. If you would like to make a contribution for the mammogram program please use the enclosed remit envelope. Working together we can make a difference!
For
years we've been bringing world-class physicians to Santa Barbara County.
